Christopher Michael Hilde was born on October 18, 1981. A couple years later, his name was changed to Michael Curtis Hilde. Not sure why. Later, he went to NYU film school for a little while. Then he got into music and had a pretty long run with his songwriting project, Mountainhood.

After Mountainhood did the concept album Owlland, Michael started getting interested in movies again. He did a quick stop-off in the literary space and banged out a bunch of novels. Then he decided to be Michael Wild and make cinema.
